First Steps to Stock Trading

One of my mentors used to tell me, "Wake up! Life is not a dress rehersal". Trading on the financial exchanges most certainly hammers this reality home. Believe it or not, but us humans are afraid of reality. We escape from it every chance we get.

"What's this got to do with Stock Investing?" I hear you say.

Well everything. Majority of people never expose themselves to the risks and rewards available to them in the financial markets, mainly because they do not wish to face reality. For me this is a scary thought as people are missing one of the most powerful wealth creating opportunities available to them today.

Now I see you thinking. "Yes, but you can lose your shirt in the markets."

Yes you can, but I believe that nine times out of ten, if you educate yourself and trade to trade well, then you will not lose your shirt. Yes, you will lose some, but through education and good trading, you will win. That said, ponder on this. If you are not prepared to lose, how will you ever stand a chance of winning.

Amongst my other investments, using the financial markets as a means to build wealth is vitally important. However, I know that it is difficult to get started, overcome your fears and face raw reality when presented the way it is in the markets.

That is why I started the Stock Investor Network. A trader community website where people can gather, ask questions, exchange ideas and learn from one another.

The choice is always yours, but remember, Life is not a dress rehersal. To create wealth and reach financial freedom, you need to face reality and that means sometimes taking taking calculated risks. But before you do, educate yourself.

As my mentor also used to say, "It's not the risks I know of that worry me, those I can hedge against. It's that risks I don't know about."
